The Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS) has launched the 2010 Volunteering In America report. It has some great info on all sorts of scales--national, state, and local. You can also see national profiles divided by age (ex. Baby Boomers, College Students, etc.).

The 2010 report and other stats are available on the Volunteering In America website, check out the South Dakota page too!

Fun fact about CNCS:
"In South Dakota, more than 5,000 people participate in national service each year through 14 national service projects and programs. This year, the Corporation for National and Community Service will commit more than $2,100,000 to support the national service initiatives in South Dakota."

These service projects and programs include AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, Learn and Serve America, etc.

Woo hoo volunteers! Keep up the good work!
